So, there's this "Mock Pony War" thing going down on Equestria Daily ([link]) and I thought over the five days it's running I'd give a shot.
The background of the whole thing sort of runs as is: Every four years the ponies and griffins stage a mock battle in honor of a thousand years of peace. Last time they did this, the Equestrians got cobbled due to a lack of numbers. So to even the score the Great and Powerful Trixie teleports a bunch of things from other places and turns them into ponies.
I could resist using this as my opportunity to crossover Precipice of War and ponies. At least for the next five days. Over this period I expect plenty of "What the hells" from my fellow role-players.
First assignment: Draw a pony in uniform or armor.
So that, explains this. And he kind of has a backstory, if only made up earlier this morning and refined throughout today. The pony's name is Tai Maa, a Colonel in the New People's China's Liberation Army on tour on the Central Russian front. He's a specialist in machine-guns and has a Degtyaryov machine gun, as well as other arms (Chongu pistol, and the sword, hat, and greatcoat of his rank and current situation). The coat being white is purposed for his current station: the snowy north.
And quiet obviously, if you go to sleep somewhere and wake up a creature totally unlike the species you went to sleep as, you'd be shocked.
I expect for all intents and purposes he'll be swapping out for rubber bullets, or something.
True. But I thought sticking to show tradition and leaving outfitting un-outlined looked awkward. Plus I wanted it there in the event it finds itself on some white or light-colored background site, like EQD. The snow-white greatcoat wouldn't exactly show well without some form of outlining.
That said, I totally saw this coming.
I could do this...
*runs for cover*
Well I was going to lighten the lines. But then I looked at it and thought it didn't look too good.
